Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a mold from being impaired or broken down at the time of opening and closure and thereby to protect the mold reliably, by moving a movable platen by a low-pressure operation when the position of a movable half having stopped is in front of a preset position in the direction of movement, on the occasion when it is restarted after an emergency stop in the course of a high-speed operation.
SOLUTION: High-speed mold closure is conducted first. A movable half is moved forward by a high-speed operation (S1). When a movable platen comes to an emergency stop at this time (S2), a molding machine controller determines the difference between the position of the movable platen having stopped and a position of switchover of the high-speed operation to a low-pressure operation as a detected distance (Lp) and makes judgement from comparison of this distance with a preset distance (Ls) (S3). When Lp≥Ls on the occasion of restarting of the movable platen, it starts forward movement on the basis of an ordinary high-speed operation (S4, S5). When Lp<Ls, to the contrary, the movable platen starts the forward movement on the basis of a low-pressure operation even when it is in the sphere of the high-speed operation (S6, S5).
