Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slag removing method providing high slag removal rate when removing a slag from a throat by tilting a converter after conducting dephosphorization blowing of molten pig iron in the converter.SOLUTION: Slag in a furnace is foamed by sending acid from a top blow lance, a converter is tilted after stopping sending the acid and discharge is initiated from a throat, then a tilt angle of the converter in the middle of slag removal is made smaller than during slag removal and pig iron and iron oxide are injected into the slag in the furnace for re-foaming and the converter is tilted again to conduct additional slag removal. The slag has a composition of CaO/SiO=0.8 to 1.5 and AlO=4 to 14 mass% and temperature is 1300 to 1400°C.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
