To convey barlike material certainly without any slip taking place between drive rollers and barlike material by providing a nip means for forcibly nipping barlike material with rollers opened and closed and holding the rotational motion of rollers as making forcible nipping, while providing the nip means operably from the outside of the separated space.
A barlike material conveyer has its upper end inserted into a vacuum chamber R and is provided with 2 pieces of mutually opposing drive rollers 107 on its upper end and a driving means B for placing the rollers 107 in mutually opposing rotation and a roller advance/retreat means C to be advanced/retreated in the axial direction of the rollers 107 are provided to be capable of being operated from the outside of a separated space R. A long- sized barlike material b is inserted between 2 pieces of rollers 107 so that the rollers 7 come to both sides of the material and conveyance takes place by making the rollers 107 to rotate backward synchronously. In this case, rollers 107 are opened/closed to forcibly nip the barlike material b and the rotational motion of the rollers 107 is maintained as being forcibly nipped to obtain sufficient conveying force without any slip of the barlike material.
