To provide a conveyor roller, which reduces a frictional force generated between the conveyor roller and an endless belt, and a belt conveyor device using the same.
An inner power-generating element 21 and an outer power-generating element 22, one of which is made of an electret and the other is made of an electric conductor, are fixed to a shaft member 11 and to an inner circumferential surface of a cylindrical member 12, and an electromotive force generated on these parts by electrostatic induction associating their relative motion caused by rotation of the cylindrical member 12 is input to a motor drive section 30, so that the motor drive section 30 drives a motor 40. As a motor stator 41 is fixed to the shaft member 11 and a motor rotator 42 is fixed to the inner circumferential surface of the cylindrical member 12, the cylindrical member 12 rotates when the motor 40 is driven. This reduces the frictional force against the endless belt in revolving motion, thereby saving power consumption by the belt conveyor device.
