PURPOSE: To provide a cordless iron capable of adjusting the steam generation amount to the one corresponding to the base setting temperature and extending the life of secondary battery for driving the water supplying means.
CONSTITUTION: This cordless steam iron is equipped with an iron main body 1 and a base to lay the iron main body 1. The iron main body has a heater 2, an electric pump 36 to supply water in a water tank 6 into a vaporizing room 22, a charging type secondary battery 44 to supply power to the electric pump 36, and a control part 43 to control power supplied to the electric pump 36 from the secondary battery 44 corresponding temperature set by a temperature setting switch. When the iron main body is laid on the base, power is flown in the heater 2 and the secondary battery is charged. After the power charged in the secondary battery 44 by repeating laying reached a designated amount, charging to the secondary battery 44 is stopped by a excessive charging prevention means for a designated time regardless of laying the iron main body 1 onto the base.
