Title:
CORE METAL FOR RUBBER CRAWLER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04159185
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide wear resistance so as to heighten the durability of a rubber crawler by covering at least a pair of protrusions and a center sprocket engaging part in rubber crawler core metal integrally with a covering body made of super hard wear resistant material.

CONSTITUTION: A rubber crawler is formed by burying core metal 2 in the longitudinally cross-compound state in a rubber elastic body 1, and the core metal 2 is surrounded by a row of steel cords 4 on the grounding side. The center of this core metal 2 is to be an engaging part 5 with a sprocket tooth, and on the inner peripheral side of the rubber crawler, a pair of protrusions 6, 6 are formed on both sides of the engaging part 5. The part, specially marked for wearing, of the core metal 2 is previously covered with a covering body 10, and both are integrated by filling epoxy resin between both. The covering body 10 is made of ceramic, and formed of cap like protrusions 11, 11 for covering the protrusions 6, 6 of the core metal 2, and a body part 12 for covering the engaging part 5. The wear of the main part of the core metal is thereby reduced to improve the durability of the rubber crawler.
