PURPOSE: A cosmetic containing pigmented powder, showing improved purple, obtained by immersing silk fibroin or extracted powder of keratin prepared from feather of cattle in a solution of aluminum salt, adding an extract of lithospermum root to it so that the extract is fixed to the protein.

CONSTITUTION: Protein powder consisting essentially of fibroin obtained from silk fiber of protein powder consisting essentially of keratin obtained from feather of cattle, etc. is immersed in a solution of aluminum salt (e.g., aluminum acetate), the unfixed aluminum salt is removed, lithospermum root extracted from Lithospermum offcinale L. var. erythrorhizon Maxim and its derivatives are added to it, it is allowed to stand at 60W70°C for 60W90min, and further allowed to stand for 48hr at room temperature. The precipitate is air-dried or dried under reduced pressure to give dyestuff extracted from lithospermum root, and a cosmetic blended with pigmented powder of dyestuff extracted from lithospermum root is obtained. The pigmented powder is easily dispersible in an oil, fading resulting from sunlight is reduced, and it is extremely easily treatable.
