Abstract:
To provide a soft catheter-type cryoablation catheter, where a tapered tip having a guidewire lumen is formed at an end thereof, for surgery for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and a method for using the same.SOLUTION: A cryoablation catheter for surgery for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy includes: a vacuum zone having therein an inlet, into which a fluid is injected, and an outlet, from which the fluid is discharged, where parts other than the inlet and the outlet are maintained in a vacuum state; a body part separated from the vacuum zone and provided at the front end thereof, where an end of the inlet and an end of the outlet communicate with each other, the body part including a freeze zone for cooling surroundings by expanding the fluid exiting through a tip formed at the end of the inlet; and a tapered tip formed at an end of the body part, where a guidewire lumen for insertion of a guidewire thereinto is formed, the tapered tip being tapered toward an end thereof.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
