Abstract:

To provide a cutting method for an axially symmetric diffraction curved surface capable of simply and highly accurately performing cutting and an article prepared by the method.

In this method, a very small sword-like cutting tool having a sharp tip is turned by making plane located with a rotary shaft of an axially symmetric workpiece and a perpendicular straight line as axes, while driving the cutting tool along a fixed locus on the plane, and a one axis (Z) straight line motion and a straight line enveloping by a three axis simultaneous control by a B axis in addition to two axes (XZ) are performed. By transfer and enveloping of a cutting edge of the cutting tool, a discontinuous diffraction curved surface is formed on the surface of a rotating workpiece.
