Abstract:

To simultaneously ensure the rigidity of the leading end part of a tool main body and cut refuse discharge properties in a cutting tool for a fragile material and to prevent the occurrence of a deficit part or the like in a part acting as an outer peripheral cutting blade even when groove processing or side surface processing is performed like an end mill.

In the cutting tool for the fragile material for applying cutting processing to a processed article comprising the fragile material, the leading end part 2 of the tool main body 1 rotated around an axial line O is formed into an almost polygonal columnar shape of which the cross section crossing the axial line O at a right angle has a polygonal shape and a cutting blade part 3 is provided to the leading end part 2 of the tool main body 1.
