To provide a cylinder dryer capable of rapidly discharging a drain formed in the inner part of the cylinder dryer and causing neither reduction in heating efficiency nor heating unevenness.

A cylinder dryer 1 is equipped with a steam supply port 3 and a siphon pipe 5. The lower part of the siphon pipe 5 is provided with openings 4 and 10. A steam trap 9 is installed in the opening 4 and an orifice 16 is arranged in the opening 10. A drain stored in the inner wall face of the dryer 1 is sent from the openings 4 and 10 to the steam trap 9 and the orifice 16 and further discharged from a drain pipe 8 to the outside.
