Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To positively disable operation of a side bar from a key insertion hole of a cylinder main body, to thereby prevent unauthorized unlocking.
SOLUTION: There is provided a cylinder lock consisting of a holder mounted in a door and the cylinder main body 10 rotatably arranged in the holder. The cylinder main body 10 having a key hole 16 for inserting a key, is comprised of a plurality of tumblers 15, and the side bar 22. The tumblers 15 each have a notch 17 formed in a side edge thereof. The side bar 22 abuts on the side edges of the tumblers 15 before insertion of the key, which leads to protrusion of the side bar from the cylinder main body 10, to thereby disable the cylinder main body from being rotated. On the other hand, upon insertion of the key, the side bar 22 engages with the notches 17 of the respective tumblers 15, and sinks in the cylinder main body 10, to thereby enable the cylinder main body 10 to be rotated. According to the cylinder lock thus formed, each tumbler 15 has a step portion 21 at a key hole 16 on the side of the side bar, and the cylinder main body 10 has a receiving portion 14 which is shaped so as to conform to the step portion 21.
