Abstract:

PURPOSE: To stably obtain a grain-oriented silicon steel sheet excellent in film characteristics independently of the changes in the emissivity of the steel sheet at the time of applying decarburizing treatment to a grain-oriented silicon steel sheet.

CONSTITUTION: In a method for producing a grain-oriented silicon steel sheet where decarburizing annealing is exerted in a moisture-containing hydrogen atmosphere and a separation agent at annealing composed essentially of MgO is applied and then a forsterite film is formed by means of finish annealing, the electric energy to be applied is fixed per unit time and unit steel sheet weight in the case of electric heating and also the flow rate of fuel to be introduced is fixed per unit time and unit steel sheet weight in the case of combustion heating in the heating zone at the time of decarburizing annealing, by which the temp. rise rate of the steal sheet can be controlled. By this method, the temp. rise time of the steel sheet at the time of decarburizing annealing can be fixed independently of the changes in the emissivity of the steel sheet, and the grain-oriented silicon steel sheet excellent in film characteristics can be stably obtained.
