Abstract:
PURPOSE: To simply and efficiently remove water in a hydrocarbon oil by feeding the hydrocarbon oil having a low content of water to a surge drum in a state of under pressure and then introducing a gas from the bottom of the drum.
CONSTITUTION: A hydrocarbon oil such as naphtha fraction, kerosine fraction, gas oil fraction, toluene or xylene containing about 0.01-0.5wt.% (preferably 0.05-0.3wt.%) is fed to a surge drum maintained in a state of reduced pressure and then a gas such as N2, Ha, CO2 or fuel gas is introduced from the bottom of the drum to remove water in the hydrocarbon oil.
