To obtain a detergent composition for dry-cleaning and to provide a cleansing method using the same, wherein the composition offers the sufficient detergency, dries efficiently cleansed materials and hardly injures the cleansed materials, and the use of the same is not much limited and provides improved safety.

The detergent composition contains a 10-13C cyclic monoterpene and/or its derivative as an essential component and contains preferably 0.1-5.0 volume % of water and/or 0.01-1.50 volume % of a surfactant based on the whole amount of the composition.
