PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a detergent composition which has good foaming, does not cause slimy touch after use, and is excellent in usability, by incorporating therein an N-acyl(methyl)taurine, or a taurine alkali metal salt or a taurine organic alkali salt of an alkyl sulfate ester, an alkyl ether sulfate ester or an alkyl-sulfonic acid as an essential ingredient.
SOLUTION: The composition employs a compound of formulae I to X. In the formulae, R is a saturated or unsaturated 7-23C hydrocarbon; X is an alkali metal including sodium, potassium, lithium, or the like; and Y is an organic alkali such as triethanolamine, diethanolamine and lysine. Specifically, for example, N-lauroylmethyltaurine, N-lauroyltaurine, and taurine sodium salt and taurine triethanolamine salt of lauryl sulfate ester, polyoxyethylene lauryl ether sulfate ester and laurylsulfonic acid are cited. The compound is incorporated in the composition preferably in an amount of 0.5-90 wt.%.
