Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device capable of preventing toner sticking to the inner surface of an upper cover and a sealing member on a developing device housing, and preventing the contamination of its inside and the deterioration of image quality.
SOLUTION: This developing device is provided with the device housing for storing developer inside and having an aperture part on a part opposed to an image carrier, a developer carrier 14 disposed on the aperture part of the device housing, and a layer thickness control member 60 for controlling the layer thickness of the developer carried to a developing area by the carrier 14. In the device, the ceiling member of the device housing is arranged above the developer carrier through a wide gap, and a shielding member 69 covering from the ceiling part of the device housing to the vicinity of the leading end of the member 60 is arranged in the vicinity of the downstream side of the rotating direction of the developer carrier of the member 69.
