To provide a compact and flexible device for efficiently delivering a rod-like article where a plurality of articles provided from one track of a vertical cutting conveyor and arranged side by side can be stored, but the ejection is performed on the same track individually relatively about that time, the conveying directions of the vertical conveyor and a lateral conveyor are extended in the mutually crossing direction, the rod-like article, especially a cigarette, can be delivered from the the vertical conveyor for feeding the article in the vertical axis direction to the lateral conveyor for feeding the article in the lateral axis direction, and, similarly, to provide a simple and flexible method for efficiently delivering a rod-like article.
In this device, a transfer means 11 stores two or more articles 17 of which all are supplied on a flat track 14 of the vertical conveyor side by side, and ejects a plurality of article groups to different tracks 27 and 28 of the lateral conveyor 23.
