Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a device and method for diagnosing faults of electromagnetic pumps by which the abnormality of an electromagnetic pump can be diagnosed by laying optical fiber cables for high temperature having heat resistances to each constituent of the pump as temperature detectors and monitoring the temperatures of representative parts, such as a coil, duct, etc., as basic monitoring parameters and temperature distribution in the axial or radial direction from measurements of temperature distributions at multiple points of the pump, and then, comparing equivalent circuit models with a reference equivalent circuit model after correcting the equivalent circuit models.
CONSTITUTION: At least one or more optical fiber cables 2 for high temperature which are temperature detecting means of the optical time domain reflection measuring method (OTDR system) are laid in an electromagnetic pump 1 which transfers high-temperature liquid metallic sodium 11 by folding the cables 2 along the axial direction or winding the cables 2 in the peripheral direction.
