Abstract:

To allow movement of a deposited sliver with a mechanical means and thereby cause displacement of the sliver within a depositing region and out of the depositing region without an additional container or the like for permitting the displacement of the deposited sliver (sliver packet) from the depositing region of a machine and substantial reduction in the equipment expenditure by a simple method.

In a device provided on a spinning preparation machine, especially a draw frame or carding machine, in which the sliver is discharged at its outlet by a discharging device 2 and is deposited on a support 3 and at that time the discharging device and the support can be moved relative to each other, the sliver (sliver packet) 4 deposited on the support 3 can be fed to a processing machine connected to a subsequent stage.
