Abstract:
PURPOSE: To connect or separate a plastic tube selectively by equipping a wafer- removal station with a carriage drive means for the movement of the carriage and with a computer to control the operations of an arm and the carriage for the automatization of the operations of the device. CONSTITUTION: When a carriage 36 is put forward to a wafer-removal station 114, a wafer 16 melts a tube 66 passing a space in the tube 66 and is transferred to the removal station 114 during a connection-operation. After that, the tube 66 is pressurized toward the wafer 16. As a result, the melten end of the tube 66 is welded by fusion. During a separation-operation the same functional devices are used; a single tube 66 is placed within the two pockets across the space of pockets, the heated wafer 16 breaks the tube 66 off and a separation- operation is performed. A computer controls operations and automatizes devices allowing synchronization of the timing of the carriage 36 and the arm 34.
