To provide a dewatering device for wet paper and a waste paper-recycling apparatus which can prevent decrease of water absorption efficiency of a water absorption part at a press roller.

A dewatering device for wet paper P comprises: dewatering belts 12, at least one of which is formed from a material having water permeability; a press roller 17 which is placed on the inward side of the dewatering belt 12 which is formed from a material having water permeability and provided with a water absorption part 37 to absorb water caused by nip pressing wet paper 64 on outer periphery of which; and nip pressure set and release means 27 which set a pair of press rollers 16, 17 to nip wet paper 64 at a predetermined pressure when operating dewatering of the wet paper 64, and release the nip pressure upon operation stop. The press roller 17 provided with the water absorption part 37 is accommodated in a drawer unit 90 which is placed on the inward side of the dewatering belt 12, and the drawer unit 90 is configured to be detachable to the device body 28 when releasing a nip pressure.
