PURPOSE: To provide a pipe end machining die which can machine a socket part with accurate dimensions and excellent appearances at the pipe end part of a synthetic resin pipe and, besides, which has good durability by preventing abrasion of parts caused by sliding.

CONSTITUTION: The pipe end machining die is of the type where a cup-shaped guide 1 and a first die 2 and a second die 3 are disposed adjacent thereto, the first die 2 is alternatively arranged in a manner encircling a generally conical thruster 23, and an outer shell 21 and an inner shell 22 are provided thereon. Accompanying axial movement of the thruster 23, the outer shell 21 and inner shell 22 move in the radial direction to contract and expand in diameter, wherein a ceramic film such as TiN, TiC, ZrO2 is provided on the contact surface in which the outer shell 21 and inner shell 22 come into contact with each other and the contact surface in which the outer shell 21 and inner shell 22 and the thruster 23 come into contact with each other.
