Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk drive unit capable of discharging a disk while controlling not bring a rotating disk into contact with a disk transport mechanism.SOLUTION: When discharging a disk, a control section 6 of a disk drive unit controls to apply a short brake to a spindle motor 1. After determining that the disk has stopped from rotating based on the state of the disk, which is input from a spindle motor driver 2, the control section 6 controls a disk transportation motor 4 to start driving a disk transport mechanism 3 to transport the disk in a discharge direction while applying the short brake to the spindle motor 1.
