In a display device of the invention, a light emitting device has two light emitting areas that have different optical characteristics and the two light emitting areas are arranged reversedly for every other cycle of a plurality of colors in the column direction. The display device has a processing circuit that, for every other cycle of the plurality of colors, transfers image data corresponding to the row and column of the relevant pixel circuit to a pixel circuit in the cycle, and alternately transfers first image data having the image data corresponding to the row and column of the relevant pixel circuit mixed with image data corresponding to the preceding row and the same column and second image data having the image data corresponding to the row and column of the relevant pixel circuit mixed with image data corresponding to the next row and the same column, to an in-between image circuit, and pixel circuits that alternately cause the two light emitting areas to emit light.
