Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device including a display with improved contrast and provide a display device including a display with improved visibility for a user.SOLUTION: A display including a first display unit for displaying display information and a second display unit whose light transmission characteristics can be adjusted is applied to a display device. A display element included in the first display unit has light transmissivity. The light transmission characteristics of an optical control layer included in the second display unit are adjusted depending on the size of voltage applied to an electrode for driving the optical control layer. The shape and size of a drive electrode are changed according to user's intention so as to be selectable, to allow light transmission characteristics of the display to be adjusted at any position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
