PURPOSE: To enable the positioning of dividing for an index table to be accomplished with high accuracy by driving a dividing shaft by an oscillating actuator via a geneva sector whereby accomplishing the positioning of dividing by means of a carvic coupling mounted on said dividing shaft.
CONSTITUTION: A free-rotating geneva sector 5 is installed on a dividing shaft 14 so as to be reciprocatingly oscillated by both a lever 3 and a cam follower 4 mounted on an oscillating actuator 2. Geneva sector 5 has holes 19 corresponding to the number of dividing wherein an engaging pin 7 which is guided by an engaging pin slide holder 6 fixed on the dividing shaft 14, is escaped from and inserted in said holes by pushing or pulling a cylinder 1 via a slider 9 and a ring shaped projection 8. Furthermore, a carvic coupling A11 fixed on the slider 9 is engaged with a carvic coupling B12 fixed on the dividing shaft 14 while being meshed when a cylinder is pushed whereby the rotation of the slider 9 is controlled by a locking member 11, thereby accomplishing the positioning of dividing.
