Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive unit in a shuttleless loom, designed to prevent fold-back of the tip on the reach side of a weft picked during normal operation, namely a portion as selvedge, and pull a defective weft from the side opposite to yarn feed side so as to surely pull out the defective weft from the opening for warps.
SOLUTION: This drive unit works according to the following mechanism: a selvedge control element 12 is provided is such a mode as to be reciprocatingly movable by the action of an actuator 16 between the action position in weaving operation and the waiting position in pulling out a defective weft 3a, and during pulling the defective weft 3a by the action of a relevant device 14, the actuator 16 is driven by a controller 17 to move the selvedge control element 12 from the action position in weaving operation to the waiting position in pulling out the defective weft 3a.
