To provide an inexpensive, highly followable and freely rotatable driving roller, for use in conveyance facilities allowing a pusher and cushion to carry in and a driving roller to carry out, without using, even when carry-in and carry-out directions differ from each other, an electromagnetic clutch that is expensive and requires electric control.

The driving roller is equipped with a cam clutch. The cam clutch is incorporated in such a way that, when the inner ring of the cam clutch rotates, cams in the cam clutch engages and rotates the outer ring of the cam clutch, so as to carry out the workpiece in the carry-out direction. When the workpiece is carried in to the driving roller by use of the pusher and cushion from the carry-in direction in parallel with the carry-out direction and opposite to the carry-out direction, the inner ring of the cam clutch rotates in the direction where it does not engage with the cams in the cam clutch, so as to allow the driving roller to rotate freely.
