To provide a drum type washing and drying machine capable of sufficiently obtaining an effect of entirely eliminating sticking of the laundry to the inside of a drum.
A drum type washing and drying machine includes a sub-drum 46 having a smaller in size than a drum 9, provided in the drum 9 in such a manner that the sub-drum vibrates (an arrow A) so as to vary a distance between the sub-drum and an inner peripheral portion of the drum 9 at least during dewatering. The sub-drum 46 allows water obtained by dewatering the laundry and intervening between the laundry and the drum 9 to be isolated, and the vibration of the sub-drum 46 eliminates sticking of the laundry to the inner periphery part of the drum 9, and loosen sticking of the laundry to each other to reduce strength of an annular structure itself in the process in which the laundry is structured to an annular form. Thus, the machine can sufficiently and entirely eliminate sticking of the laundry to the inner peripheral portion of the drum 9.
