To provide a drum type washing machine which reduces noise during circulation of washing water.
A drum type washing machine includes: a water tub 3 which rotatably includes a cylindrical rotary drum 2 with a bottom; a motor 5 which rotationally drives the rotary drum 2; a circulation water path (A)13 which is provided in the inner face part of a cylindrical wall 40 of the water tub 3; and a circulation route 19 which communicates with the circulation water path (A)13 and which has a discharge port 14 for discharging washing water in the water tub 3 from a drum opening part 35. The circulation water path (A)13 has a circulation rib 20 in which the washing water in the water tub 3 propels along the circulation water path (A)13 when the rotary drum 2 rotates, and water is fed to the circulation route 19. The circulation rib 20, by having a linear rib (A)12 which is provided in the inner face part of the cylindrical wall 40 in such a manner that it faces substantially the same direction as the rotation center of the rotary drum 2 and a circular arc rib (A)11 which is continuously disposed at the linear rib (A)12 and which is recessed with respect to the counter-rotational direction of the rotary drum 2, can improve washing performance and rinsing performance and can reduce the noise during the circulation of the washing water.
