To provide a dryer which can improve the accuracy of the supply of powder etc., as materials and is superior in cost performance and working properties.

The dryer 1 is equipped with a dryer 2 having a drying hopper 5 and a blower unit 6, a loader hopper 3 which is arranged vertically above the dryer 2 and has material supply opening 19 and an opening/closing valve 20 which opens the material supply opening 19, a suction type blower 4, a branch suction line 22 connected to the loader hopper 3, a branch vacuum line 23 connected to the drying hopper 5, a switching operation valve 21 connected to the branch suction line 22 and the branch vacuum line 23, and a suction-vacuum line 24 connected to the switching operation valve 21 and the suction type blower 4. In the dryer 1, the inside of the drying hopper 5 is decompressed, as the need arises, by the switching operation of the switching operation valve 21. Since the inside of the loader hopper 3 can be sucked, the accuracy of material supply can be improved, so that the materials can be dried surely in good working properties.
