To provide a drying device for a wet paper, which can reduce the quantity of heat necessary for the heating in heating means and can efficiently dry the wet paper, and to provide a used paper recycling apparatus provided with the drying device for the wet paper.

In the drying device V for the wet paper which comprises: a conveyor belt 16 for conveying the wet paper in a wet state; and a drying roller 50 which winds the conveyor belt 16 around the outer peripheral surface and has heating means 63 for heating the wet paper provided therein, and heats the wet paper conveyed by the conveyor belt 16 by using heating means 62 and dries the wet paper, the drying device V for the wet paper further has a covering member 53 for covering the outer peripheral surface of the drying roller 50 provided at a position that is in the outer peripheral surface of the drying roller 50 and the vicinity of a portion at which the conveyor belt 16 is wound.
