Abstract:

To provide drying furnace for a ceramic that can efficiently dry an unbaked ceramic containing water or a resin binder by concentratedly radiating near-infrared rays that excel in performance for disconnecting a hydrogen bond between molecules while suppressing an increase in temperature inside the furnace.

The drying furnace for a ceramic is a furnace for drying an unbaked ceramic containing water or a resin binder, the water or the resin binder having: a hydrogen bond; and absorption spectra in a region of wavelength of electromagnetic wave, of 3.5 μm or less. The furnace body 10 is equipped with a transporting section 11 for the unbaked ceramic and an infrared heater 12 inside. The infrared heater 12 has a structure where the outer periphery of a filament 15 is covered with a plurality of tubes which absorb infrared rays of a wavelength equal to or longer than 3.5 μm, and between these plurality of tubes, a flow channel for the cooling fluid which suppresses an increase in surface temperature of the infrared heater is formed.
