To simplify a structure and reduce cost without damaging the performance of a blower fan as much as possible.
A drying machine includes: a rotary drum which accommodates clothing; a motor which drives the rotary drum; a housing which supports the rotary drum; and a blower unit which blows air into the rotary drum during a drying operation carried out while rotating the rotary drum. The blower unit comprises a fan case which has an air intake port, a blower fan which is rotatably positioned inside the fan case, and a fan motor that rotates and drives the blower fan. The blower fan is configured by having a plate that is fixed at a rotary shaft of the fan motor, and blades arranged in such a manner that they form air flow path from the center side towards the outer periphery side at the surface of the air intake port side of the plate. One end of the blade is fixed at the plate, while the other end is opened, and at the center side of the plate of the other end of the blade, a protrusion is formed which extends towards the air intake port of the fan case.
