Abstract:

To enable the drying of a paper web in a state that the peeling line of the paper web is kept in a lateral line on a Yankee dryer, by adhering an adhesive substance to at least both the selvages of a wet web-contacting surface of the Yankee dryer at its inlet.

This method for drying a paper web with a Yankee dryer comprises adhering an adhesive substance such as polyacrylic acid sodium salt to both the sides of a paper roll placed at the just front of the inlet of the Yankee dryer, transferring the adhesive substance to the wet web to adhere the adhesive substance to at least both the selvages of the wet web brought into contact with the Yankee dryer, and subsequently drying the wet web. The wet web can thus be dried in a state that the peeling line of the web is kept in a lateral line.
