Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the subject drying section capable of smoothening both sides of a paper web, and capable of connecting drying group without causing tension.
CONSTITUTION: This drying section of a papermaking machine including several drying groups 1', 1", 1"' with at least one drying screen 3', 3", 3"' each has each one smoother 10', 10", 10"' positioned at the end of the drying group 1', 1" and/or at the following beginning of the drying group 1", 1"'. The smoothers form smoother gaps mutually or together with drying cylinders 5', 5"' of the drying groups 1", 1"'. Only the paper web 2 is conveyed through the smooth gaps.
