To obtain a cloth having excellent ammonia deodorizing performance without deteriorating the dust-free property and antistaticity and suitable for dust-free wear by graft-copolymerizing a vinyl monomer having an acidic group to a specific woven fabric of synthetic fiber.
A cloth having a dust generation of ≤20 particles/ft3.100 cm2, frictional electrification voltage of <3 kV (in conformity to JIS L1094B) and a deodorizing ratio of ≥90% using a gas detection tube in a closed vessel having an ammonia gas concentration of 200 ppm is produced by weaving a fabric made of polyester and/or nylon filaments, having a weaving density of 20-230 filaments/inch for warp and weft, a single fiber fineness of at least one of the warp and weft of 0.5-5 de and a total fineness of 70-150 de, applying a graft treatment liquid containing a vinyl monomer having an acidic group substituted with a metallic ion, e.g. a (meth) acrylic acid salt to the cloth and graft-copolymerizing at a grafting ratio of 0.5-60 wt.%.
