Abstract:
To provide an eddy current type speed reduction device capable of suppressing a windage loss and securing a radiation performance.SOLUTION: A speed reduction device comprises: a rotor (1); a plurality of fins (8); a plurality of permanent magnets (3); a switching mechanism; a cover (21); and a cover switching mechanism. Each fin (8) is provided to an outer peripheral surface (1a) of the rotor (1), and is included to a rotational direction of the rotor (1). Each magnet (3) is arranged to an inner side of the rotor (1). The switching mechanism switches a brake state and a non-brake state. The cover (21) includes an outer peripheral end (22) positioned between a top surface (8c) of the plurality of fins (8) and a bottom (8d) of the plurality of fins, and is opposite to an end surface (1c) of the rotor (1). The cover switching mechanism separates the cover (21) from the rotor (1) in the break state, and moves the cover (21) close to the rotor (1) in the non-break step. The cover (21) is arranged on the side where a preceding end part (8a) of each fin (8) exists.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
