Abstract:

To provide a method, by which electric crushing work can be conducted efficiently while avoiding posing an environmental problem by performing electric crushing in a liquid without resulting in the adverse effect of the liquid.

The insides of water retention covers installed around electrodes 13 are supplied with water 15 as a conductive liquid, and an object to be crushed 16 is dielectrically broken by discharge between the electrodes 13. Dielectric breakdown voltage capable of dielectrically breaking the object to be crushed 16 for a time shorter than the calculating time of an applied-voltage calculating section 10 is obtained on the basis of the time when the applied-voltage calculating section 10 reaches a crossed point consisting of the intersections of the dielectric breakdown curves of water 15 and the object to be crushed 16 at that time and output to a high-voltage pulse generating section 11, and voltage pulses having a steep rise satisfying the dielectric breakdown voltage are generated in the high-voltage pulse generating section 11 and applied to the electrodes 13.
