Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric furnace in which a furnace body is placed in motion and which can prevent a current from flowing to a furnace motion mechanism which places the furnace body in motion.SOLUTION: An electric furnace 1 comprises: a furnace body 10 which houses a metal material; an electrode 25 which is supplied with electricity to melt the metal housed in the furnace body 10; a furnace body motion mechanism 30 bearing the furnace body 10 such that the furnace body can be placed in motion on an installation surface 90; and an insulation member 51 electrically insulating the furnace body 10 and furnace body motion mechanism 30. The furnace body motion mechanism 30 has a first part fixed to the installation surface 90 and a second part bearing the furnace body and placed in motion relative to the first part. It is preferable that the first part and second part be electrically connected. Further, the furnace body 10 and furnace body motion mechanism 30 are preferably grounded independently of each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
