To provide an electric heating device capable of maintaining the whole of held molten metal to a uniform temperature by eliminating temperature unevenness due to the locations of molten metal held in an electrically heated holding container.
The electric heating device holds the molten metal in the conductive holding container and carries a current directly to the holding container to heat the molten metal held therein. An agitation coil composed of a plurality of cylindrical coils is disposed surrounding the outer periphery of the holding container, and AC power is applied to the agitation coil to generate the AC magnetic field vertically moving in the holding container to thereby agitate the molten metal in the holding container electromagnetically.
