Driving wheels 23 are respectively mounted on the right and left sides of a frame 21 of an electric wheelchair part 2 via in-wheel motors 22. A steering unit 3 is provided with a front tire 41 and a throttle steered by a handle 46. A controller body 36 of the electric wheelchair part 2 detects whether or not the steering unit 3 is mounted via a connector 60. The in-wheel motors 22 are respectively controlled in response to control signals from a joystick 37 when the steering unit 3 is mounted. The in-wheel motors 22 are respectively controlled in response to control signals from the throttle when the steering unit 3 is not mounted.
