Abstract:
To increase the degree of purity of a carbon dioxide to be used for a reductive reaction.SOLUTION: An electrochemical reaction apparatus comprises: an anode section for generating oxygen by oxidizing water; a cathode section for generating a carbon compound and hydrogen by reducing carbon dioxide; a separator for separating the anode section from the cathode section; and a power supply connected electrically to the anode section and the cathode section. The cathode section comprises: a porous material having a first surface and a second surface; a flow channel plate facing the first surface; and a reduction catalyst supported on the second surface. The flow channel plate comprises: a flow channel through which a target gas including the carbon dioxide flows; and a porous film impregnated with ionic liquid for separating a first space from a second space in the flow channel and for separating the carbon dioxide from the target gas.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
