The electrolytic cleaning liquid is used in a die cleaning device where, inside a cleaning tank storing an electrolytic cleaning liquid, a die as the object to be cleaned held to a metallic basket is immersed into an electrolytic cleaning liquid, further, an electrode material is hung inside the cleaning tank, the electrode material and the metallic basket are connected to the plus side and minus side of a power source, and energizing is performed via the electrolytic cleaning liquid to perform electrolytic cleaning for the die. The electrolytic cleaning liquid is composed of an alkali solution comprising: sodium hydroxide; potassium hydroxide; the alkali salt of EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) or/and sodium gluconate. As the alkali salt of EDTA, EDTA di-sodium salt or EDTA tetrasodium salt in which the whole or a part of the hydrogen atoms in the carboxylic acid group of EDTA is substituted by alkali metal atoms is used.
