In an electromagnetic brake device including an armature 14 to which at least a part of brake shoes 11, 13 is mechanically connected, a brake spring 18 for biasing the brake shoes in the braking direction, and a core 17 sucking the armature by energization and separating the brake shoes from the disc, a forcible releasing device 24 for forcibly separating the brake shoes from the disc by a manual operation, includes a ball screw mechanism 30 having a movable body 26 connected with a forcible release bolt 25 fixed to the armature 14, a fixed body 27 disposed at a core side and opposed to the movable body, an inclined portion disposed between the movable body and the fixed body, and a rolling member 29 sliding on the inclined portion, and a handle 31 mounted on the movable body and rotatable along the rotating direction of the disc.
