PURPOSE: To provide an electromagnetic clutch which can prevent the occurrence of abnormal sound at the time of power transmission even in the case where a driven shaft is assembled in the stage of masalignment.
CONSTITUTION: A rotor 13 on a driving side is arrangedly provided so that it may be rotatingly driven, and an annular contacting element 16 is attached to driven hub 14 on a driven side opposite to the contact face of the rotor 13 through a plate spring 15. In this electromagnetic clutch, the contacting element 16 is adsorbed to the contact face of the rotor 13 by the absorbing force of an electromagnet 12 provided on the side of the rotor to transmit power. A projecting outer ring 13b and a projecting inner ring 13a are concentrically formed on the contact face of the rotor 13 centering around the shaft of the rotor 13. The inner ring 13a is formed to be slightly higher than the outer ring 13b so that the contacting element 16 may be absorbed to only the inner ring 13a of the rotor 13 when the clutch is engaged to function.
