PURPOSE: To obtain an electromagnetic fluid-conducting apparatus capable of applying DC without subjecting the electromagnetic fluid itself to any chemical change by applying power into the electromagnetic fluid through electrode- oxidizing an oxidation-reduction sort by one of electrodes and through electrode- reducing said sort by the other of the electrodes.
CONSTITUTION: An electromagnetic fluid-conducting apparatus constitutes a pair of electrode chambers provided with ion exchange membranes 6, 7 between electrodes 2, 3 and electromagnetic fluid 1 and separated from the outside by electrode frames 8, 9, and an electrolyte 10 is fed by the use of a pump 13 through a pipe 11 branching off to respective chambers of the pair of electrode chambers and is discharged to flow together through a pipe 12. The electrolyte 10 is circulated from the pipe 12 to the pipe 11, but a tank 14 may be provided between both pipes. Then, when the electrolyte 10 reacting in both electrode chambers is remixed and recirculated to both electrode chambers, the composition of oxidation-reduction sorts in the electrolyte 10 can be held constant and DC can be applied continuously. Further, a solution dissolving at least one sort of ions in the electromagnetic fluid 1 and a pair of oxidation-reduction sorts is used as the electrolyte 10.
