Title:
ELECTROMAGNETIC PUMP FOR MOLTEN METAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2009268293
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To achieve a stable operation by buffering vibration and impact or the like generated between a protective tube 3 and a core 2 over a long period of time while preventing the occurrence of powderization of a filler 8 filled between the protective tube 3 and the core 2.

The electromagnetic pump for a molten metal includes a heat-resistant cylindrical duct 1 that allows a molten metal to pass therethrough, an inductor 14 that generates a shifting magnetic field in the duct 1, the core 2 that is arranged in the duct 1 and made of a magnetic material forming a magnetic path for the shifting magnetic field generated in the inductor 14, and the heat-resistant sheath-like protective tube 3 that stores the core 2 and is arranged in the duct 1. The electromagnetic pump for a molten metal is configured to form an annular flow path 19, which allows a molten metal to pass therethrough, between the protective tube 3 and the duct 1. The filler 8 made of carbon fibers or a carbon cloth is filled between the protective tube 3, forming the annular flow path 19 for a molten metal in-between the duct 1, and the core 2 inserted into the inside of the protective tube. A filler 20 made of a carbon cloth or an expanded graphite sheet is filled into a groove 17 of the core 2.
