When the present moving speed Vc(m) of a carriage is detected, when the next position is included in a first region (Step S10 is negative), the next estimated moving speed Vs is calculated based on the present moving speed Vc(m) and an acceleration DVc at the present time (Step S13). When the present moving speed Vc(m) is detected, when the next position is included in a second region (Step S10 is affirmative), the next estimated moving speed Vs is calculated based on a moving speed actual measurement value Vz stored in an actual measurement table (Step S15). A delay setting value KD to adjust a drive timing of a recording head is calculated based on the next estimated moving speed Vs (Step S17).
